Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, explained that the planet Saturn looks like a medium-bright star to the naked eye, and this is because the apparent distance between the moon and Saturn can be seen together in the field. Abu Zahra revealed that parts of the Eastern Region, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen will witness a rare phenomenon, as the moon will rotate in front of Saturn in an event called the occultation event. The disappearance of a celestial body by another celestial body passing between it and the observer, the term “occultation” is usually used when the Moon passes in front of a star or planet in the zodiac.
