Saudi prosecution warns of 5-year jail, SR30,000 positive for possession of narcotics

RIYADH — The Public Prosecution warned that anybody who possesses narcotic substances with out the intent of trafficking or promotion shall be punished with imprisonment and a positive.

The warning is geared toward anybody who possesses narcotics or psychotropic substances, transports them, arms them over, or receives them with out the intent of trafficking, promotion, or private use, with out correct authorization.

In line with Article 39 of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Management Regulation, anybody who conducts the above acts shall be jailed for as much as 5 years, along with the imposition of a positive of SR30,000,
