The tourism system announced the hosting of the “Artificial Intelligence in the Tourism Sector” conference, which will be held on September 10 during the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh.
The conference featured an opening address by Al-Jawahra Al-Muqbel, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism for Digital Transformation and Information Technology, in addition to discussion sessions highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in promoting innovation, collaboration and sustainability in the tourism sector in the Kingdom, and also in enhancing business efficiency and guest experience through the rapid growth witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the tourism sector in the Kingdom, led by the Ministry of Tourism, is working to benefit from artificial intelligence, transforming theoretical concepts into realistic solutions that advance the future of travel and hospitality.
The partnerships concluded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with leading global artificial intelligence companies also confirm its commitment to accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence and promoting growth in the field, enhancing the Kingdom’s leadership in fostering technological innovation and expanding the role of artificial intelligence in the tourism sector.
The discussion sessions will discuss how to make decisions based on artificial intelligence that are evidence-based to predict future trends and grow the tourism sector. In addition, the discussion will also discuss the importance of artificial intelligence ethics in ensuring a sustainable sector and the role of artificial intelligence culture in building relationships and increasing understanding between cultures, discussing how artificial intelligence can assist in the maintenance of a sustainable tourism sector by improving resource management and reducing environmental impact.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Saudi Tourism Authority are focusing on investing in technology and data analytics, as their role is vital in enhancing commercial operations and contributing to future decision-making based on evidence to create seamless experiences for tourists. Artificial intelligence also extends to infrastructure development and improvements in basic tourism services such as transportation, hotels and airlines.
The Ministry of Tourism's Undersecretary for Digital Transformation and Information Technology said that the collaboration with leading organizations in artificial intelligence confirms Saudi Arabia's commitment to revolutionizing the tourism sector through the use of advanced technology, by leveraging the power of artificial intelligence, noting that the ministry aims to significantly improve the visitor experience in one year and promote sustainable development in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
