The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) announced its most notable achievements in the third quarter report for the year 2024, as it organized 536 events across different regions of the Kingdom, with a total attendance of 8.3 million visitors.
The number of license applications also increased to 9,000 licenses during the period, representing an increase of 20 percent compared to the previous quarter, when the number of applications reached 7,498 applications.
The number of licenses issued reached 1,827 licenses in the third quarter, an increase of 5.7% compared with the same period last year, the report said. These licenses include entertainment programs (481 licenses), entertainment shows (412 licenses), and live performances. In addition to 82 licenses to organize and manage crowds in restaurants and cafes (567 licenses).
The authority also registered 5,225 companies operating in the entertainment sector and the number of licensed entertainment cities increased to 106 cities.
At the level of supervision and inspection, the Authority carried out 21,749 thousand supervisory visits during the third quarter, which represents an increase of 3.9% compared to the previous quarter. The report notes that Riyadh leads the cities in terms of the number of supervisory visits, as it recorded 7,108 visits, followed by Mecca al-Mukarrama, which recorded 6,222 thousand visits.
