Jeddah Municipality's official spokesperson, Muhammad bin Obaid Al-Baqmi, confirmed that the municipality will not accept the return of slums again, stating that the slum development project is one of the most important projects at the local and regional level. , and aims to improve the quality of life for residents of those areas.

Al-Bakhmi pointed out that in some neighborhoods, whether in the east or the south of the city, construction was carried out irregularly on lands that do not have legal documents, and without obtaining building permits, he said. Emphasized that this situation is considered a violation of the rules. , and the Secretariat will take regular action against these sites.

He added: “The sites that were removed, whether in the Harazat neighborhood or elsewhere, were built illegally on land owned by legal entities and without building permits, which is a violation, and we are concerned about that.” Will take necessary legal measures.”

Jeddah Municipality, in cooperation with relevant authorities, continued efforts to restore government land, as it removed encroachments at seven locations in the Salman Bay in the North Obur area, covering an area of ​​more than 1.5 million square meters, and restored the area Being cleaned.
