76 male and female students compete "Sahim Program" for innovation and social entrepreneurship

Yesterday, the King Khalid Foundation concluded the fifth edition of the “Sahim for Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship” program in cooperation with King Faisal University, and it was held at the university's headquarters in Al-Ahsa governorate. The program lasted three weeks, including an interactive training camp that reviewed the most important principles and tools of social entrepreneurship, innovation and creative thinking, followed by a hackathon in which around 12 groups of 76 male and female students competed.

The program aims to build the capacities of youth in the field of innovation and social entrepreneurship to enable them to find sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by society and enhance their sense of active citizenship to contribute to achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. By honing their skills through training camps and hackathons, increasing their confidence in facing the challenges they may face in their future practical and professional lives and increasing opportunities for creativity for them. Which included a group of entrepreneurs and expert advisors to support and guide the participants during their journey in finding a solution to the challenge posed under the title “Environmental Sustainability and Tourism”, they presented their ideas to the jury at the end of the hackathon and 3 teams won the first three places in the program.

The project was part of the Capacity Building Program projects, which work to develop the skills, processes and resources of nonprofit organizations to achieve improved performance in institutional functions.
