The King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication, at its fourth session for the year 2024 A.D., announced the names of the winners of the “Civilization Communication Award” during a media meeting held at its headquarters in Riyadh yesterday, in the presence of the Center’s members, the Secretary General, Dr. Abdullah Al-Fawzan, the Deputy Secretary General, Ibrahim Al-Asiri, and a number of representatives of various media.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Fawzan, Secretary General of the Center, stressed during the meeting that media and cultural communication are one of the most important pillars of communication between different peoples and civilizations, as media plays a vital role in disseminating ideas and helping cultures and societies achieve mutual understanding and introduction.

Al-Fawzan pointed out that the current session of the Cultural Communication Award saw the expansion by adding a fifth branch to include international non-profit organisations and institutions present in the Kingdom, in order to contribute alongside their national counterparts to strengthening the values ​​of tolerance, moderation and coexistence, and contribute to achieving the aspirations of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in building a vibrant society and a prosperous homeland.

The total number of entries reached (234) across the five different branches of the awards, as the fourth season of the awards saw an increase in the number of contestants and the quality of entries across the various award tracks.

The winning initiatives in the five branches were as follows: The award for the Government Institutions branch was shared between the Saudi Authority for Industrial Estates and Technology Zone “Modan” with the “City of civilized communication… and a locomotive for development” initiative for the industry and economy, and Taibah University with the “Ambassador of Moderation” initiative, and the Association of Moderation awarded a scientist with the “Saudi Cultural Days” initiative for the Civil Society Organizations branch and the Arab Education Bureau for the Arab Gulf States received the “Reference guide for educating students on the values ​​of tolerance and acceptance of others” initiative for the International Non-Profit Organizations and Institutions branch. For the fourth branch, Al-Faisal University received the award for several initiatives including the “Culture Days initiative, People for the people initiative, and Noor for the blind” for the Private Sector Institutions branch, while in the Individuals branch, Dr. Sultan bin Sulaiman Al-Anazi won the award with the “Rapid transformation towards a bright and fair education” initiative.

The Center has allocated a number of financial and in-kind prizes that will be given to the winners during a ceremony to be held under the patronage of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Riyadh Region, on Monday, Rabi al-Awwal 13, 1446 AH, at the Center’s headquarters on September 16, 2024.
