Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, was today welcomed by Saudi Paralympic athletics team athlete Abdul Rahman Al-Quraishi at the Paralympic Hall of the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh to mark the occasion of winning a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
His Excellency congratulated Al Quraishi on winning the gold medal in the 100m wheelchair race at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
His Highness stressed that Al-Quraishi's gold medal achievement following his Tokyo 2020 bronze medal is the culmination of his efforts and training during the four years between the two tournaments, and that he has proven without any doubt that he is a world-class professional player.
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki presented champion Al-Quraishi with a financial reward of five million riyals after achieving this feat, in line with the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s vision to honour distinguished people.
On his part, Al-Quraishi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Sports for his follow-up, support and interest through the elite athletes' development program, and expressed his aspiration to continue flying the Kingdom's flag at all international sports forums in the times to come.
The reception was attended by His Excellency Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Sports and a number of officials of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
